Teach with connection not correction

Clear and considerate communication gives specific frameworks for each session for the client to be a focal point of their own experience. I strive to communicate concepts in a manner that gives the maximum amount of time for the student’s growth and application of the content, along with clear benchmark goals to be met. I provide clear step-by-step instructions and contextual examples within these frameworks. Follow-up instructions, questions, and observations create meaningful and personalized feedback. Immediate validation and confirmation of skills and concepts applied create strong emotional memory and learning.

Each individual on planet Earth has the fundamental right to show up as they are on any given day. I will do my best to meet the student in the spirit of empathy and attune myself to their needs and requests.

I seek to teach with connection, not correction. I strive for wisdom through observation of how to best understand each individual. Each and every student has the right to be who they are. I aim to connect through “validation and expansion,” where all learning is a process of engaging with a “yes and” mentality. This approach creates a safe learning environment where growth edges can be explored in a free and open space. 

I approach each individual with a unique array of tools to meet their specific needs. The very first step is making a personal connection. I always seek to connect to their interests and attitudes by offering sincere interest, space to be heard, and empathetic reflections of what I hear. When students begin to feel safe, heard, and understood, learning becomes much easier for them, and teaching becomes deeply rewarding.
